Rome sweet home – there’s no place like home! There’s so much to see and so little time, but don’t worry! The perfect morning or afternoon awaits as you discover and enjoy the sights of this wonderful city. Rome has been my home all my life. Explore it with me, and you’ll be seeing the real side of the Italian capital from an insider’s perspective only a local can offer.
Over the course of three hours, we’ll encounter all of Rome’s household names: the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. But that’s not all. We’ll also discover quiet corners and churches, squares, courtyards, and much more! And what better way to live ‘la dolce vita’ (the sweet life) when in Rome? By indulging in Italy’s best-loved foodstuff: gelato!
Explore Rome’s most famous attractions
Starting from your hotel, we’ll make our way into the Campo Marzio (Field of Mars). Far from the far-flung field you might expect, this is actually the name of Rome’s historic centre, named after the god of war because it’s here, outside the ancient city walls, where the Roman legions used to train.
I’ll then walk you through Rome’s main attractions, giving you my unique perspective refined during my PhD in archaeology. As well as exploring such sights as the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, I’ll share priceless tips, helpful advice and cultural insights, bringing an insider’s expertise to your visit to Rome!
From here it’s not far to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, two stunning structures with a fascinating ancient past. In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, you’ll see this fascinating city come to life through stories, anecdotes and urban legends and learn about popes, emperors, and artists who left their mark on the Eternal City.

No day spend exploring Rome would be complete without ‘doing as the Romans do.’ And what do the Romans do after their passeggiata (leisurely stroll) through the historic centre? They duck into one of their favourite gelaterie for a cup or cone of the creamy stuff of dreams
I’ll take you to try the best gelato in Rome – not the tourist traps that push mass-produced ‘gelato’ near the main sights but the hidden artisan gelaterie. Whatever your taste, whether it’s rich, dark chocolate, nutty pistachio, or fresh summer fruits just bursting with flavour, I’ll take you to the place that’s best for you.

No-shows and late cancellations are subject to a 100% penalty fee.
I always purchase your tickets in advance (to save any waiting in line) so they are non-refundable.

- I’d recommend bringing a comfy pair of shoes or sneakers as this tour involves quite a bit of walking!
